Skin Tightening

WHAT IS THE SKIN TIGHTENING PROCEDURE?

Plasma skin tightening uses plasma to heat the tissue beneath the epidermis, triggering fibroplasia and stimulating collagen production. The procedure has an immediate and permanent impact on skin tightness. Skin laxity continues to decrease for up to 1 year following the procedure.

Plasma Pen harnesses the power of plasma, a fourth state matter (Solid, Liquid, Gas, Plasma), to help reduce or eliminate certain skin conditions and concerns, such as wrinkles, fine lines, moles, skin tags, etc. It is used in aesthetics for anti-aging and wrinkle reduction.

The principle is to ionize gases in the air to create a small electrical arch, similar to a tiny lightning bolt, with which dermal and epidermal areas, which are affected by aesthetic problems, may be treated without spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding areas.

When the electrical arch – plasma – touches the skin surface, the heat widens and is transferred into the epidermis all the way to the papillary layer which contains fibroblast cells. The result is contraction and tightening of the skin cells. Consequently, the excess skin is reduced, and the result is comparable to lifting or wrinkle reduction.

Treatments include eye lifting effects, crows feet, lip lines, demi facelift, full face lift, neck lift, stretch marks, tummy and stretch marks tightening.

WHAT ELSE CAN FIBROBLASTING HELP TO ELIMINATE?

- Fine Lines, Crows Feet Lines, Eyebrow ptosis, Nasal Labial Folds / Laugh Lines, Marionette Lines, Smokers / Kissing Lines, Neck Lines, Drooping Skin / Loose Skin, Moles, Skin Tags, Pigmentation Removal, Age Spot Removal, Liver Spot Removal, Freckle Removal, Scar diminish/removal, Stretch Mark Removal

IS FIBROBLAST SKIN TIGHTENING TREATMENT RIGHT FOR ME?

Ideal candidates for this cosmetic procedure are those with fair to medium skin tones with lax, crepe-like skin around the eyes, neck, tummy, mouth, or targeted area for the treatment. Fibroblast will not affect fat cells. A good candidate must not be prone to keloid scars, have diabetes, a healing disorder, lymphatic draining issues, history of hyperpigmentation, wear a pacemaker, be pregnant or be breastfeeding.

Each person is required to have a consultation in order to ensure they are a candidate and do complete a skin test prior.

WHAT ARE THE MOST COMMON TREATMENT AREAS?

Eyelid lift (upper, lower), facelift, jowl, neck lift.
Resurfacing of wrinkled areas (labial, nasolabial, worry lines, smile lines)
Removal of different kinds of moles. Scar removal.

IS FIBROBLAST TREATMENT SAFE?

The treatment is very safe, as it is a non-surgical procedure. It has a negligible amount of possible side effects and serious complications alike. The procedure is based on the natural stimulation of skin regeneration, so the excesses which may be seen in the world of traditional surgery are not possible.
The Fibroblast treatment takes a very short time, with stress on the aftercare, as, in case the client neglects the instructions for aftercare, the treated area may suffer from: inflammation, hyper-pigmentation, scarring.

ARE THERE ANY POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF THE FIBROBLAST TREATMENT?

The Fibroblast treatment is an exceptionally safe procedure with virtually no side effects, or they occur very rarely. Possible side effects are inflammation, scarring or minor change in skin pigmentation, which is very rare. It is highly important for each client to follow the instructions for aftercare closely. Crusts that occur after the treatment are part of the treatment and will fall off after 4–5 days. Minor to Severe swelling after treating the area around the eyes may occur and is normal and will disappear after 3–5 days, depending on the client’s sensitivity.

WHAT WILL I EXPERIENCE DURING THE PROCEDURE?

Once the scabs fall off, that doesn’t mean your treatment is over. That is actually where it all begins!! Because you’ll be In the collagen producing stage and it kicks it into overdrive from the controlled trauma done to the epidermis. So everyday it’ll subtly keep getting better and better. It takes a full 12 weeks to see “final” results even though your collagen will continue to produce thereafter. It’s a gift that keeps on giving. So wait 12 weeks and schedule another consult and we can go from there.

HOW LONG DOES THE TREATMENT TAKE?

First, the prescription (BLT 20/10/10) topical anesthetic (cream) is applied, minimizing the risk of pain and numbing the treated area. The anesthetic takes effect at least 20 minutes after the application. The procedure itself does not last long, 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on the area.

 IS THE PROCEDURE PAINFUL

Fibroblast skin tightening is a non-invasive procedure with a minimal level of pain. Very few people experience a higher level of pain.  (But it is possible, based on their natural pain tolerance and how well they respond to numbing cream) The treated area is numbed before the treatment. After the treatment, the treated area is red (7–14 days) and some patients may experience some mild to severe swelling, which may last up to 3–5 days. At the site of each spot, a small crust will form. They should not be touched and you should wait for 3–7 days for them to fall off naturally. During the procedure, the clients may feel some discomfort, depending on the treated area of the face/body.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE AFTERCARE?

You are likely to see immediate tightening and lifting especially if you have crepe-like skin.

Please remember it takes a minimum of 12 weeks to see final results though you may still get improvements to the area for up to 6 months.

Face dots shed approximately 4 - 10 days following treatment (average client begins to shed dots on day 5, 6 or 7). Dots on the body often take longer than the face, potentially around 2 weeks. The fresh new skin that is revealed is often pink for in between a few days to the entire 3 months (rare), fading daily until returning to original coloration.

After the dots shed, the skin may be temporarily tender and peeling or even slightly textured. This is normal and will get smoother each day, return to its’ normal coloration and continue to tighten over the 3-month healing period. As skin returns to its’ original texture and color, the skin may appear healed, but that is just the beginning as the skin underneath does its work. It takes 4 weeks for collagen and elastin production to BEGIN.

It will take 12 weeks for healing process to cycle through completely and for skin to be refreshed and for healing to complete. The most tightening and lifting happens in weeks 6 -8.

Temporary swelling is normal due to the fact that the area will be recovering from a deliberate controlled wound.  Swelling cannot be avoided and will subside in a matter of days. Ice and antihistamine will minimize swelling. You will be following a dry healing method which means you will do your best to keep treatment area dry until dots shed.

MAY I USE MAKEUP AFTER THE FIBROBLAST TREATMENT?

Do not use makeup after the treatment, as it generally is not sterile. You may use medical grade tinted sunscreen. For the first 4–6 days after the treatment, until the crusts fall off, use the aftercare products you've been given, applying it softly to the treated area. When the crusts fall off, you may apply some makeup if necessary. But continue to use SPF, YOUR NEW SKIN IS FRAGILE!

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED FOR A PERFECT RESULT?

It depends on the state of the clients’ skin and the desired degree of correction. The client is often satisfied after only one treatment, of course, if, for example, the wrinkles are not very deep, but due to the simplicity of the procedure and the affordable price the clients opt for two or even three treatments to achieve a perfect result. The procedure may be repeated after the skin is fully regenerated, so 6–8 weeks after the procedure.
Generally, 1-2 sessions are required.
